About the Owner

Angelique, the Owner, Director, and Principal Lawyer of Wilding Watkins, brings a wealth of experience and expertise to the firm.  A lawyer and NMAS-accredited mediator, her professional journey is distinguished by a diverse and extensive background in the legal field, particularly in insurance, transport, financial services and commercial law.

Angelique particularly enjoys providing tailored assistance to in-house teams, through flexible offerings of legal services; this largely takes the form of short and longer secondments, fixed fee projects or time billed assistance.

Her expertise encompasses working with insurance brokers, banks, insurance underwriters, Protection & Indemnity (P&I) clubs, and small to medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). She also has a significant background in the aviation and maritime sector.

Prior to establishing Wilding Watkins, Angelique was deeply involved in private practice. There, she focused on advisory, contractual, and asset finance work, representing several major international airlines, international banks, transport companies, P&I Clubs, shipowners, as well as aviation and marine insurers, brokers, and underwriters. This experience has endowed her with a profound understanding of the nuances and complexities of these industries.

Her legal career is further enriched by extensive experience in the wider commercial, transport and insurance industries across various geographical landscapes, including Australia, Fiji, and the Middle East. She has advised on a range of matters including insurance regulatory and compliance issues, claims handling, litigation, and alternative dispute resolution.
